Με σύνθημα “Προορισμός ΧΙΟΣ!”, τα Ηνωμένα Χιακά Σωματεία Αμερικής και Καναδά διοργανώνουν το 6ο Παγκόσμιο Αποδήμων Χίων και το 57ο Ετήσιο Χιακό Συνέδριο στο ΟΜΗΡΕΙΟ Πνευματικό Κέντρο Δήμου Χίου.
Η έναρξη του συνεδρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε την Τετάρτη το απόγευμα, και συνεχίζεται μέχρι την Παρασκευή.
Σήμερα οι εργασίες ξεκινούν από το πρωί στις 9.00 με τη συνέχιση των εγγραφών αντιπροσώπων και με τις εργασίες να συνεχίζονται μέχρι τις 12.30 μ.μ..
Το απόγευμα από τις
6:00 μμ – 8:00 μμ θα έχουμε Ομιλίες, Παρουσιάσεις, και θα ακολουθήσει ανοικτός διάλογος.

Aπονομή Βραβείου της Χιακής Διασποράς στον π. Αντώνιο Παπανικολάου, ιδρυτή της οργάνωσης Κιβωτός του Κόσμου Αναγνώριση Χορηγών του Συνεδρίου
Το Συνέδριο θα είναι μια μεγάλη ευκαιρία για όλους τους ομογενείς από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και τον Καναδά να συναντηθούν με ομογενείς από την Ευρώπη, την Αφρική, την Αυστραλία, και Νότια Αμερική.
Να σημειώσουμε ότι οι εργασίες του συνεδρίου είχε ξεκινήσει από τις 30 Ιουλίου με τις εξής προγραμματισμένες εκδηλώσεις:

Τρίτη 2 Αυγούστου

Destination CHIOS!
The “Chios Societies of America and Canada, Inc.” cordially invites all fellow Chians and their friends to attend the 6th International and 57rd National Chian Convention that will be held in Chios, from July 30 – August 5, 2011. This summer let’s all visit Greece, this way we all will be contributing to the economy of our island. Our message has been the same for all these years from the past five international conventions: return to our roots, to the place where our parents were born, and to introduce our children to Chios, the place we all love.
The Itinerary is as follows:

Sunday, July 31st
• Afternoon – Evening Beach Party (Young Adults) at “Ammos” in Komi
• Afternoon – Evening Informal Dinner for Delegates, Family, and Friends at “Notos” in Komi
Monday, August 1st
• 8:30 AM Excursion to Northern Chios Villages with Guided Tour; with Lunch Break and Beach Time
Tuesday, August 2nd
